Research evidence based practices: In accordance with IC 35-50-9-1, our program is an Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ICADV) Certified Batterers Intervention Program. Using the latest evidence based curriculum materials, our classes address all types of inappropriate or abusive behavior including: emotional abuse, mental abuse, verbal abuse, substance abuse, and physical abuse. We cover the lowest levels of hurtful behavior such as "the silent treatment" and "the look".

Specialists in Violence & Abuse: We are not a general counseling agency that has quickly thrown together an anger management program on the side. Working to end violence and other abusive behavior is our specialty. It is the only thing we do and we strive to be the best at what we do! .

We respect our clients: Court mandated and voluntary clients are accepted and treated equally. Our common sense approach is simple and respects the dignity of our clients.

No mental health diagnosis or label: Our program is education, not treatment. Clients do not receive a mental health diagnosis or label that could stigmatize and cause future harm.

No waiting list: All our classes are open ended so new clients can start at any time. We believe that early referral and intervention of abusive behaviors may prevent further abuse.

Low client fees: All of our programs are low cost direct fee for service. No health insurance coverage is required. No client is ever turned away due to inability to pay. Our fees are actually less than most health insurance deductibles and co-pays. No insurance or employer benefit programs are required to obtain our services. Based on our current rate schedule, our weekly class fees are only $25 to $35.

Accountable Reporting to Referral Sources: We are experienced in working with criminal justice offenders. We understand accountability is vital when conducting effective forensic intervention. We have developed our own custom computerized database reporting system. Thus, we take great pride in our impeccable track record of providing timely documentation and reporting. Our computerized system automatically generates reports:

  • When a new client enrolls.
  • Monthly status update verifying attendance of all active clients.
  • When a client violates the terms of their enrollment agreement and is unsuccessfully discharged.
  • When a client successfully completes their program.

Assessments: As part of our Orientation, every participant who did not receive a comprehensive assessment prior to referral to our program receives a FREE screening to rule out the need for more intensive intervention for substance abuse and/or mental health issues. We utilize evidence based screening instruments acquired from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Public Health Service, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA), Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT)'s Treatment Improvement Protocols. Thus, an assessment is not prerequisite to enrolling in our program.
